Look up the official text.
Choose one statute, EU act, municipality or US state, then search for words that appear in it. You get the passages, word for word, with a link to the official source.
What you can search here
Four kinds of official text, each read from the publisher that issues it. Choose one, then search for words that appear in it.
- Dutch statutes
- Acts and codes from the national legislation database, in the version in force today, such as the Civil Code (Burgerlijk Wetboek). Each result links to the article on wetten.overheid.nl. Burgerlijk Wetboek Boek 7 on wetten.overheid.nl
- EU legislation
- Regulations and directives by name or CELEX number, such as the GDPR or the AI Act. Each result links to the article on EUR-Lex. The GDPR on EUR-Lex
- Dutch municipal regulations
- By-laws of a Dutch municipality, such as an Algemene Plaatselijke Verordening, from the national register of local regulations (CVDR). lokaleregelgeving.overheid.nl
- US state statutes
- The codes of the US states in Savion's index, collected from each state legislature's own publication. Each result links to the section on the state's site. California Legislative Information
How the search works
- It matches words, not questions. Type a term that appears in the law, such as “proeftijd” or “consent”, rather than a sentence.
- Results show each matching article with the words marked, ranked by how many of your words it contains.
- The article text is quoted word for word, with a link to the official source so you can check and cite it.
- It is free and needs no account. It is a lookup, not legal advice.
Have a question rather than a search term?
Savion's agents take a question in plain language, read the statutes that apply, and answer with the article numbers and links behind every point.
